Olive Branches Symbolize Peace

olivewreaths_peacewreath200As this week’s 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, come to a close I always enjoy seeing the universal symbol of peace the Olive Branch and athletes crowned with Olive Wreaths (Athens). The Olive Branch rooted in ancient history, literature, and pictured in Presidential Seals continues to be admired. While the launch of this blog didn’t coincide with all the Olympic party planning or Olympic Barbeque Picnics–there is still the holiday season to display this inspirational symbol of peace.

Using beautiful, artificial olive branches you can make an arrangement in a vase or center an olive wreath above the fireplace mantel for year round decoration.

  1. I have always loved any type of decor using an olive branch…makes me feel very “Greek”. :)
